Dr. Nassif attended the IABMAS 2016 conference in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil from June 26th to June 30th. He organized two special sessions:
- Special Session 14 (SS14): “Monitoring and Evaluation of Railway Bridges”
- Special Session9 (SS9): “A Development and Application of Weigh-In-Motion (WIM)”
The SS14 was co-chaired by Dr. Túlio Bittencourt from University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the SS 9 was co-organized by Dr. Eui-Seung Hwang from Kyunghee University, Korea.
Dr. Nassif also presented the following three papers:
- Paper 634: “Fatigue Assessment of Centenarian Railroad Bridges”
- Paper 635: “Evaluation and Load Rating of Railroad Bridges Based on Structural Health Monitoring (SHM)”
- Paper 632: “Live Load Predictions Based on Daily Maximum Vehicle Weight from Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) Data”
IABMAS 2016 was the 8th International Conference on Bridge Maintenance, Safety and Management organized by the International Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety, or IABMAS.
From their website; “The international IABMAS 2016 conference aims at providing an appropriate atmosphere for the exchange of experiences related to bridge maintenance, safety, and management. IABMAS 2016 will bring together academics, researchers, and practicing professionals, bridging the gap between theory and practice in bridge maintenance, safety, and management. IABMAS 2016 will provide an informal atmosphere and sufficient free time for scientific connections, interactions with past and future collaborators, and so on.”
