Overview
Rutgers Infrastructure Monitoring and Evaluation (RIME) Group is a multi-modal transportation infrastructure research and education facility focusing on the structural health monitoring, advanced concrete materials, finite element analysis, traffic and transportation analysis, life cycle cost analysis, etc.
There are two research laboratories under RIME group, and one collaborating laboratory. We are growing and growing:

Dr. Jason Weiss, School Head and Professor in the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering as well as Director of the Kiewit Center for Infrastructure and Transportation Research at Oregon State University, presents a seminar at NJACI Dinner Meeting on “A Roadmap for Test Methods, Models and Specifications for Concrete Durability Performance” at the NJACI Dinner Meeting held on Tuesday 1/15/2019.

Korean delegation visited our RIME Group and NJDOT/NJTA

Korea delegation from the Korea Rail Network Authority (Mr. Ahn and Mr. Seo) and POSCO (Dr. Park) visited our RIME Group to discuss about the use of weathering steel in NJ and US.

RIME Group organized meetings with the NJDOT and NJTA to learn about their experience and lessons learned about the weathering steel.


Dr. Nassif is honored by the NJACI and Concrete Aggregate Association receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.

On May 10, 2018, Dr. Nassif received the Lifetime Achievement Award during the 55th NJ Concrete Award dinner. The New Jersey American Concrete Institute Chapter (NJACI) and the New Jersey Concrete Aggregate Association (NJCAA) honored him with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his research work in the area of structural concrete and its field implementation.

Dr. Zdeněk P. Bažant provided a lecture at RIME Group

Dr. Zdeněk P. Bažant, McCormick Institute Professor and Walter P. Murphy Professor of CEE Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Material Science Engineering, presented a seminar entitled “Design of New Materials and Structures to Maximize Strength at Probability Tail: A NEGLECTED CHALLENGE FOR QUASIBRITTLE AND BIOMIMETIC MATERIALS” at RIME Group on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 as a part of Rutgers CEE Department Seminar Series.
