The New Jersey Chapter ACI invited Raj Navalurkar, PhD, P.E., Vice President of AECOM to the dinner meeting on 2/11/2015.

Topic: Rehabilitation of the Brooklyn Bridge Concrete Deck, Approach, and Barriers
This presentation will cover the background of incorporating a “get in, get out, and stay out” philosophy, without having to close any lanes, while demonstrating improved quality through rigorous quality control and quality assurance. This includes how to apply innovative strategies in planning, construction management and design. The presentation will also discuss the use of the concrete maturity method and other techniques to expedite bridge reconstruction – as it applies to the Brooklyn Bridge and other major projects in the tri-state area. The main focus of the technical presentation will be primarily on the case study of the Rehabilitation of the Brooklyn Bridge.
