The RIME Group has been successful in teaming up with Tier 1 Centers including the Mineta Transportation Center (2012-2017), RECAST Center at Missouri University of Science and Technology (2012-2017), and C2SMART at NYU (2016-2020).

NYU in collaboration with Rutgers University's RIME Group was selected for a Tier 1 University Transportation Center award by USDOT - "Connected Cities for Smart Accessible resilient Transportation (C2SMART)" center. The funding will be at the level of $1.4 million per year up to 5 years. NYU will lead a consortium of 4 Universities including Rutgers University. The announcement for the award is below.

This grant is one of 35 five-year grants that will be awarded to lead consortia under the University Transportation Centers (UTC) program, reauthorized by Sec. 6016 of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act, P. L. 114-94). UTC consortia are selected to advance research and education programs that address critical transportation challenges facing our nation. There are three types of UTC awards defined by the FAST Act. For Fiscal Year 2016, the values of these grants are - $2,803,300 (National UTCs), $2,470,600 (Regional UTCs)and $1,402,200 (Tier I UTCs). Subsequent awards using Federal FY17 - FY20 funding will be made annually, subject to availability of funds and grantee compliance with grant terms and conditions.
