Dr. Nassif​ ​participated in the​ ​7th International Conference on Structural Health Monitoring of Intelligent Infrastructure​ (ISHMII7) in Turin, Italy, July 1-3, 2015.​ ​He presented "Fatigue assessment of centenarian railway bridges with structural health​ ​monitoring data" in the Special Session 11- Advanced monitoring and assessment of bridges and special structures, organized by​ ​H. K. Kim, Korea - G. Rodriguez, Spain​.

Two Universities in Seoul, Korea (Kyung Hee University​ ​and Hanyang University) invited Dr. Nassif to speak at one of​ ​their graduate student seminar​s​ in July, 2015 about the Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) projects in New Jersey.

The Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware Chapter American Concrete Institute invited Dr. Nassif as a speaker for the dinner meeting on 9/24/2015. This presentation highlighted​ ​different projects where various types of instrumentation techniques used to monitor and test various types of​ ​concrete structures during and after construction.

The ACI Foundation​ ​has announced the formation of the Daniel W. Falconer Memorial Fellowship, created in honor of the late Dan Falconer, FACI, who passed away July 29, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer.​ ​This new fellowship will be awarded to graduate students studying in the field of structural engineering with an emphasis in reinforced concrete design. The ​Japan Concrete Institute (JCI), an international partner with ACI,​ recently celebrated its 50th anniversary​. Dr. Nassif has invited as a speaker of the JCI 50th Anniversary Commemorative Symposium about the Resilience of Concrete Structures. The JCI invited 6 ACI members to organize the JCI & ACI Joint Seminar to celebrate the 50th anniversary. The lecture entitled Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) for Evaluation and Quality Control of Concrete Structures was presented in the Session 2: Assessment and Monitoring of Concrete Structures.

During the first week of June, a group of 20 students gathered a 3-day accelerated short course on the structural health monitoring of transportation infrastructure facilities. The workshop offered participants 2-day of classroom lectures and half-day of field visit. The classroom lectures covered various SHM topics of concrete bridges as well as pavement and state-of-the-art sensor technologies, and provided hand-on experiences of various SHM sensors in the laboratory. The participants visited two bridges to learn the field SHM projects.

The RIME Team received a prestigious award during the 52nd Annual NJ Concrete Awards for New Jersey’s Outstanding Concrete Project of the Year 2014. The project won the Grand Award with Dewberry as the lead designer and with RIME as the structural health monitoring (SHM) and field testing laboratory.
