RIME Group had a summer pizza break on 7/26/2017 in Civil Engineering Laboratory. The majority members of our group except undergraduate research assistants enjoyed the pizza and coffee.

Dr. Nassif was invited to present the recent NJDOT project entitled Route 139 Rehabilitation - Pulaski Skyway Contract 2 at a Brown Bag Lunch Session at NJDOT.

Dr. Hani Nassif attended the ACI 2016 Fall Convention in Philadelphia. He presented the following paper:

- “Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of Corrosion Potential in Concrete Bridge Decks”

Two students in RIME Group, Christopher Sholy and Jonathan Rodriguez, received 2016 Scholarship from SEAoNY http://www.seaony.org/. SEAoNY (Structural Engineers Association of New York) is a member organization to the largest structural engineering organization in the country. They work to adopt updated codes and many of the members have contributed to ASTM and ACI standards. The awards were given to the students by Mr. Bill Phelan, a well known member of this industry. The meeting gave us insight about how the organization was and functions internally. Mr. Phelan gave the awards himself, and was also the chooser of the winners.

Dr. Hani Nassif and graduate student Hasan Al-Nawadi attended the Concrete Service Life Extension Conference in Orlando, Florida from May 23rd to May 25th. They presented the following paper:

Dr. Nassif attended the IABMAS 2016 conference in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil from June 26th to June 30th. He organized two special sessions:

- Special Session 14 (SS14): “Monitoring and Evaluation of Railway Bridges”

- Special Session9 (SS9): “A Development and Application of Weigh-In-Motion (WIM)”

In January of 2016, Dr. Hani Nassif, Chaekuk Na, and Peng Lou, attended the 95th annual meeting of the Transportation Research Board in Washington D.C. Two papers were presented; the first in poster session presented by Chaekuk Na and the second in a presentation session presented by Peng Lou.
